Each year, Samsung typically introduces one new book-style Galaxy Z Fold and one flip-style Galaxy Z Flip to its foldable portfolio. By releasing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July and the new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in October—a lighter and smaller version of the standard model—the South Korean smartphone manufacturer broke with tradition this year. According to a recent source, Samsung is expected to release two different Galaxy Z Fold 7 models the following year. The codename for the regular model is Q7.
Two Galaxy Z Fold 7 Variants Could Be in the Works
According to a Galaxyclub rumor, Samsung is presently developing two different Galaxy Z Fold 7 models. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is codenamed Q7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is codenamed B7. The company is allegedly developing a third Q7M model in addition to these two codenames; this could be the second iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
According to the article, the Q7M’s development is proceeding concurrently with that of the standard Q7, indicating that the Fold won’t go on sale until early 2025. This Galaxy Z Fold 7 model is rumored to be either the rumored tri-fold phone or another Special Edition.
This month, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition made its debut in South Korea. While keeping the same internal specifications, it has a lighter and thinner design than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When it was released, the single 16GB RAM + 512GB storage combination cost KRW 2,789,600, or about Rs. 1,70,000.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has a 200-megapixel rear camera and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy CPU, just like the regular model. Its outward screen is 6.5 inches, while its interior screen is 8 inches.
