The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has reminded vehicle owners across India to update their registered mobile numbers linked to their Registration Certificates (RC) and Driving Licenses (DL). This initiative, available through the VAHAN 4.0 portal
, aims to streamline communication and ensure timely alerts related to e-challans, tax payments, insurance renewals, and pollution certificates.

Vehicle owners can now update their mobile numbers online by selecting their state, providing vehicle details, and verifying their Aadhaar-linked mobile number. The portal is currently operational for multiple states, including Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.(SITE )

Authorities have warned that failure to update mobile numbers may result in missed notifications and potential fines. Citizens are urged to complete the update promptly to comply with the Transport Department’s directives.
